By popular request I have a look at some of the new Chanel Rouge Coco Flash Lip Colors ($38 each) and the new Voyage de Chanel Travel Face Palette ($70). There are some really nice colors out for a pretty soft fresh glow this season.
Chanel replaced their Rouge Coco Shine with a new formula called Rouge Coco Flash. The formula seem very similar to each other, I really cannot tell the difference except in the packaging and the newer ones seem to have a slightly more hydrating feel. Rouge Coco Flash has a sheer color formula with a high glossy finish. They’re smooth and hydrating with an emollient balm-like feel. These have sheer pigment for the natural lighter shades. The deeper brighter colors will have more color payoff. I limited myself to five and ordered a few to see how I liked the formula before committing to more.
These have that signature lipstick scent that some of the Chanel lipsticks have (like their Rouge Coco). It’s not overpowering or too strong. I can really only notice it when I take a hard sniff. They have a very glossy feel and lots of shine. Lasting power is not really there, but that is expected with a sheer glossy lip product. Color stayed on for around 2-3 hours without touching the lips to any drinks or snacks. Since these are comfortable I don’t mind reapplying.
Colors I bought:
- Boy 54 is a soft neutral mauve pink, I searched everywhere for the original Boy to compare, but I no longer own it
- Flash 74 is a bright peach in the tube, on the lips it sheers out to give a pretty brightened peachy pink, this one is my FAVORITE
- Live 82 is a gorgeous medium deeper rosy pink with gold flecks, the shimmer is very subtle
- Immediat 84 looks like the perfect pinky peach in the tube, on my lips it’s very sheer, I had to do several swipes and layers for it to show up on me, but the color is really pretty
- Jour 90 is a medium warm pinky rose cream
Up next is a look at a new face palette from Chanel. I received a press sample of the new Voyage de Chanel Travel Palette. Right now it’s exclusive to Chanel.com in the US. It has four cheek shades in a quad similar to the Coco Codes from a few years back. It’s described as having “baked powder” technology which makes it soft and fine in texture. It is a soft powder that gives a very natural effect. You can layer for more coverage. Since the colors are all close to each other without a separator swirling/mixing colors is most likely going to happen. Application is smooth and even. Finish is natural but glowy. Lasting power was very good – stayed put all day without darkening or budging.
Voyage de Chanel is inspired by four cities:
- Paris is a warm pink satin shimmer
- London is a coral satin
- New York is a shimmery brown
- Tokyo is a soft champagne pink highlight

Overall some lovely classics for the spring season. The Rouge Coco Flash lipsticks have a pretty color range for a fresh easy to wear glossy lip. If I had taken more time to look at the colors in person I would have picked a few of the brighter or deeper shades, but I did want to pick a few safe shades to test the formula. Out of the options I picked I can see myself wearing Flash on a regular basis. Jour and Live are also really pretty. As much as I had high hopes for the classic Boy shade, it kinda makes me look washed out.
The Voyage de Chanel Face Palette offers a nice glow to add warmth, color and a little bit of sheen to the complexion. It’s nice for those who want color that’s not overdone. I’ve gotten a little bit of my tan back and found it showed up well on me even with a light hand. I think if I’m a shade deeper it will still show up.
You can find the Chanel Rouge Coco Flash at all counters now and Chanel.com. The Voyage de Chanel Travel Palette is available at Chanel.com.
Have you tried the new Rouge Coco Flash or new launches from Chanel? What did you think?
Rouge Coco Flash purchased by me. Voyage de Chanel gifted by Chanel.

The travel palette is so beautiful!❤️

I need that palette!
I agree, Flash looks like the perfect summer lip. The makeup look is perfection. Will have to pick up that one!
I adore the RC Flash formula but then I’ve always been a huge fan of RC Shine. I find the Flash formula to be a bit more moisturizing than the Shine without it being overly slick or heavy feeling. The lighter shades let the natural roseiness of my lips show through which makes the colors uniquely mine. The deeper shades are more opaque but still a bit transparent. I started with Flash (the color) and Enthusiasm to see how I liked the formula and then went back for some deeper colors—Furtive, Émotion, and Heat. I’m really liking the ease of application and the nurturing feel of the lipsticks and hope to see more colors released with up-coming collections.
Your description of them is absolutely perfect, Sabrina. The only thing I’d add is that some of the shades look very similar in the tube and some women might be wondering why there are so many similar shades; especially at $38 a pop. Remember, though, each person’s own lip color will impact the final color. For example, Furtive and Émotion are quite similar at first glance but they look completely different when applied to my lips because of the way my natural lip color interacts with them. Moral of the story: Go to the counter and play with them. Oh! And be aware that even though a couple colors have the same name as the old Shine (i.e. Boy and Bohème) the color of the RC Flash version is a bit different. All considered, I’m a huge fan of this new lipstick entry by Chanel.
All four swirled together looks so pretty.
i bought Jour and love it!! Flash looks amazing on you!!
I fell in love with Intime and Confident in the Fall of 2014. I will forever wait for Chanel to re-release these shades. I hate it when my favs disappear. Better pop over to Nordies to see the rest of the collection. 🙂
I blind bought Ultime and I wish I got Jour or Live instead. It’s a gorgeous orange red but doesn’t match my skin tone.
I wasn’t a fan of the old shines, but I thought I’d try a couple of the new ones to see if I like these any better. I feel these are more opaque, at least the shades that I bought. I have it in Beat and Furtive. I love Beat, it’s really pretty. I do like the way Flash looks on you so I may pick that one up as well.
how I adore the blush palettes from Chanel! this one is just as drool-worthy as the others I have collected. it is so tempting. I am also interested in the new Rouge Coco Flash, I wasn’t a huge fan of the old formula, though I am bummed that they seem to have tweaked my favorite colors in the re-issue. Boy and Noir Moderne will have to be rationed from now on. The new colors look so glossy and sheer on you, very pretty.
I love the Shine line so the new Flash line is definitely something I’ll be checking out. Jour in particular seemed perfect for me!
I haven’t liked any of Chanel’s releases lately, but this one looks good, especially the lip colours.
I love Chanel. They have a new highlighter stick that I really want to try.
Rouge Coco Flash in Flash looks devine for summer. I’m going to have to check that out in person text time I go shopping!
I wish they wouldn’t put four colors on such a small square.
All of the lip shades look so amazing on you!! Lovely review!! 🙂
All the colours look so pretty and I will definitely check out the travel palette!
This post makes me really feel the summer…despite it being 5 degrees in Canada.
Your swatches are always so excellent! Great images.
What an adorable palette! Boy was my first Rouge Coco Shine and it holds a special place in my heart.
The face palette looks gorgeous! Definitely going to try and pick that one up soon.
It all looks lovely – but nothing really stands out to me. I have similar colors in my stash. Maybe that’s a sign that I have too much makeup! 😅
I always love your lip product posts!
I’m a huge fan of coral shades so this collection is just perfect for me!
The Live 82 lip shade is gorgeous on you!!
OMG. That Voyage de Chanel cheek palette is extra dreamy!
The cheek palette is so pretty and looks so glowy and fresh on you!
I want Boy because of your swatches!
Nice blend of shades, the jour ones are nice
Oooo, I wasn’t interested in each individual shade, but together they look really lovely and exactly like my kind of color!
Beautiful little palette. I like the finish of the coco shines but don’t like the smell :/
Those balms look lovely!
I always have trouble trying to use one or the other of the face palette colors when it’s this small, but the
swirling/mixing colors result is very pretty.
Love
