Weekend Link Love

September 13, 2015

I hope everyone has been enjoying the weekend! We are having a heat wave in Southern California with temperatures in the high 80s, it’s hard to imagine what fall will feel like with all this warmth. I’m working my way through some new products. I’m really excited to try the new Edward Bess Illusion Foundation and Longwear Lip & Cheek Stains. Also on my testing list have been the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks, Lancome Audacity Eyeshadow Palette and the Molton Brown Ylang Ylang Collection. I’ll have reviews up soon.

Several of you have asked for thoughts on the latest from Marc Jacobs Beauty, including the Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer and Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate. I bought the primer and acquired four mini samples of the foundation from my local Sephora. I’m still putting them to the test. I like the primer, still undecided about the foundation. Right now my preference is still for the Genius Gel Super–Charged Oil–Free Foundation (reviewed here) over the new one, but I want to give it a thorough test before I have a review posted.

A few links I’ve been loving this weekend:

What are you loving right now? Did you end up ordering anything from the recent beauty events from Neiman Marcus, Barney’s or Space NK? I’m still waiting on a couple orders – unfortunately they didn’t arrive in time to post before the events ended – but I’ll start testing things soon as they arrive (I ordered some new items from By Terry and Le Metier de Beaute).

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

New Edward Bess reviews!! Yeah! I have three of the matte revolution lipsticks in Love Liberty, Bond Girl and Amazing Grace. I love them. They don't make my lips dry out and have good wear. Really looking forward to your new posts! Cheers! Cherie

Can't wait for the Lancôme palette review. I've been waffling on whether or not I want to purchase it and I've been waiting for someone to do a review of it! Also I saw Temptalia's review of the Tom Ford eye and cheek shadows and I was blown away that they would put out such a terrible product!

I love Lisa Eldridge and she's the genius behind the Lancome palette. Can't wait for a review as well before I purchase.

The Space NK offer was very tempting but I had to be conservative and assess if I would just buy something to get the gift. 🙂 Too bad that all these are in September and so close together. I'd love to get the Barney's gift – if it were in October.
I am currently loving my old Chanel Cambon lipstick and the new Chanel Illusion d'Ombre in Melody. Also, the fall Chanel polish Chataigne is great and exciting for the cooler season to come. It is hot here, too – we went swimming in the river yesterday and I am far up the coast from you.

Hi, can you please post what brand and model is that makeup case that is holding your marc jacobs lipgloss? Also, where you purchased it. Do you recommend it? I need to get one and can't decide which one to get. Thanks!

I think it is a 5 drawer Muji. Under $30.00. Absolutely great price. Fabulous organizer. Good quality. I have two. One I put a bunch of my makeup in the bathroom. One I use for putting in loose dental supplies in the office. Clear, visible, and functional.

ooh, thanks! Do you know the best place to purchase this from?

    • Sabrina September 16, 2015 at 10:31 pm

Hi Anon – yes it's by Muji. You can buy online at Muji – they have different sites depending on what country you are located. They also have stores around the world. I definitely recommend it!

I placed an order with Space NK when they did the $20 off a $75 order a week or so ago. I got Lipstick Queen's Hello Sailor (what took me so long? this l/s is gorgeous!), Tata Harper's resurfacing mask, and a Tangle Teaser. I am thrilled with my order 🙂

Hi! I discovered your blog two weeks ago and I love it! I am waiting for the review of the Lancôme palette. I want to see it personally, but it isn't yet available in Spain ( I also looked for it in French Lancôme page, but it isn't available at the moment!). Thanks!

    • Sabrina September 16, 2015 at 10:31 pm

I'm not sure if it's available internationally – I hope it will be!

  • Vanessa Gonzales September 14, 2015 at 11:11 pm

That Sephora brush is amazing, E.l.f has a great dupe for it and its only like $6!

    • Sabrina September 16, 2015 at 10:31 pm

      Wow! That's a steal.
