Chanel Fall 2015 Stylo Yeux in Ardent, Érable and Pomme de Pin

August 25, 2015

For fall Chanel has four new Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliners ($32 each) in Ardent, Érable, Feuilles and Pomme de Pin. I picked up four at my local counter but when I got home realized one was the wrong color (it was one of the older shades) so I have three of the four shades swatched. The three new fall colors I have are Ardent which is a shimmering copper, Érable a shimmering khaki taupe and Pomme de Pin a glossy brown-black. All are permanent with the exception of Ardent which is limited-edition. The Stylo Yeux pencils seem to have improved drastically with this release. I’m not sure if all pencils are like this, but the new ones are super creamy and glide on the lids without any tugging. Previous releases are hit or miss with the formula. Some drag a little while others are more emollient. All three in the fall collection have intense pigment and apply easily on the eyes. They are creamy but set within a few minutes. As with my experience wearing all other Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof pencils, they last all day without smudging or fading. I give all three a huge thumbs up. I wish they would make the colors into cream shadows because they are just so pretty.

The three fall shades I came home with shown below in Pomme de Pin 921, Ardent 918 and Érable 919, plus a repromote in Ardoise 912. At the counter the rep went by number when she was pulling the colors, she must have confused 912 and 914. I don’t blame her – I get confused by the numbering system all the time.

Bottom line all three are winners. Since the formula has improved so much I need to investigate some other existing colors as my Black Shimmer and Ebene seem to have dried up and are tugging at my eyes when I use them. I would have thought Pomme de Pin to be a basic black color but I like that it has some brown undertone to prevent it from looking harsh on my eyes. Ardent is pure love – I like to smudge it upwards with the fingers on the lids as a cream shadow. Erable is beyond gorgeous. I need it in a powder shadow form.

Have you checked out Chanel fall? Did you pick up any of the eye products? I passed on the Illusion D’Ombres. I picked up the quad but haven’t touched it yet – I can’t decide whether or not I can do the khaki colors. I’ll have a review of the 5-pan palette up soon. I’ve been playing with it and am head over heels in love with it. I may need a backup. If you’ve seen/tried it let me know if you think Feuilles is a must-have and I might go back to check it out.

You can find the Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof pencils at all Chanel counters now. Online at Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Chanel.com and all other Chanel retailers.

Erable looks like a must-have! Glad to hear this batch works well. I never have wear issue with these, but some of them could be a bit softer.

I really like the look of Pomme de Pin. I find that dark brown eyeliners are a lot softer on the eyes than a black liner. Will have to keep an eye out for these!

I'll be ordering at least Pomme de Pin immediately! I currently use Ebene daily…

    Érable looks stunning!

I was calling out Erable from Day One– love it. I also am a big fan of Ardoise as well as Perle de Lune. I don't have Pomme de Pin and yours is the first blog where I can really see the colors– thank you so much! I am now considering picking it up and hope they do a more eggplant-y version. I love Feuilles– but it depends on whether or not you wear green. It's quite dark and one of the more wearable neutral greens around.

These are so so unbelievably lovely! I got all four of them and can't get enough of using them! Only thing is, even on top of Nars Pro Prime they transfer on the upper lid and disappear after three hours or so completely on my eyes, would love it if they lasted all day!

They all look absolutely gorgeous. I'll probably only buy one and it'll be a hard choice. I got the quad as well and I know what you mean about being cautious with the green. I have green eyes and up until now all of my palettes have been neutral browns or pinks. I knew the green would look good with my eyes so I decided to look for a more mellow green. I have to say I love the quad! I don't use the intense green color as much, but it's workable for an everyday look.

I was holding out on choosing a Stylo Yeux from the autumn collection until your review! I just ordered Érable (I'm almost out of Khaki Precieux, use it almost everyday, and from the comparison shot it looks like Érable will be a nice slightly more golden segue for fall) and almost got Pomme De Pin but decided to get a backup of the Fresh Effects stick shadow in Caroube instead (my smokey eye secret weapon). Eager to hear if you find Pomme De Pin to be a good everyday dark liner.

Thanks for doing this post! Based on your swatches and post, I think I NEED pomme de pin! BTW- will you ever do a home tour, post? I love your style and would love to how you decorate your home. 🙂

This is the first time I've commented, but I read your blog frequently – you have great swatches and that has helped me a lot! Plus I share your affinity for high end/good quality products. Anyway, I just got Chanel New Moon (a re-promote, I think?) and all I could think, looking at these swatches, is how beautiful Ardent would be with it. I feel a trip to Nordstrom coming on…

I always wanted to use the pencil liners from Chanel because I LOVE the liquid liner but the formula was never wonderful. I am so glad to hear these are awesome! I definitely want to check out Pomme de Pin.
